Zulu Alpha Kilo
At Zulu Alpha Kilo (Z.A.K.), fighting sameness isn't just our creative mission—it’s why we exist. When brands want to challenge convention, Z.A.K. offers work that is never expected, but always feels right. The unexpected showed up in many forms this year, from reaching younger audiences for the Art Gallery of Ontario with a witty mix of highbrow and lowbrow to telling Henry of Pelham’s story by developing photos with their own wine; from turning territories into icons for Destination BC to creating Bell’s first refreshed brand platform in 17 years. The unorthodox led to a year of global success and growth across new business and long-term clients, expansions across all offices, and industry accolades. Campaign Global named us an Independent Agency of the Year, Fast Company granted us an Innovation by Design Award, Adweek shortlisted us for Innovation Agency of the year, and we received—for the eighth consecutive year—platinum status in Deloitte’s best managed companies. And we remained true to ourselves with introspective, satirical thought leadership (like the viral “Catch Me If You Cannes”), continued commitments to DEI, and creative community involvement. Z.A.K.’s story is one of conviction and creative ambition, proving success outside the old rules is possible.
